Curtin DISCOVER Tour
In January, ICP took part in Curtin’s DISCOVER Program. DISCOVER is a school holiday STEM program consisting of three days of engaging, hands-on lab sessions and expert speaker presentations, along with information on studying at university and the many rewarding careers in STEM.
This year around 50 year 9 & 10 students with an interest in STEM were given the chance to see ‘behind the scenes’ of Curtin’s state-of-the-art facilities. These students ventured to ICP where they were introduced to ICP’s vision and purpose from ICP’s Associate Team Leader, Adil Khokhar. Some of our other fantastic Engineering Associates, Harrison Outram, Yatin Patel and Nathan Hynes presented their Summer Projects and showed the students demos of the technology they are working with.
A big thanks to all of the students who came through, we hope this session fostered your interests in STEM!

NEWS
Innovation Central Perth collaborates with CEED WA
Innovation Central Perth is excited to announce our partnership with the Cooperative Education for Enterprise Development (CEED) program for 2022. The CEED program links undergraduate, postgraduate and higher degree by research students with industry research and development needs. For the first time, CEED WA is able to offer all clients the opportunity to undertake projects at Curtin University through Innovation Central Perth.
In a nutshell, CEED projects are student research projects undertaken for academic credit. The project challenges are defined by the client enterprise – meaning participating students are addressing real life issues within industry and delivering outcomes that enhance performance throughout client operations. Each student is supported by an academic supervisor and mentor throughout the project for expert advice and guidance. This immersive research project not only counts for academic credit, but also gives students practical industry exposure and experience.
This research engagement program is a cost effective way for industry organisations to target specific issues within their business and is also a fantastic opportunity to build research relationships with both Curtin academics and students.
We will be calling for projects from industry shortly… watch this space!
