Project Title:

Artifical Intelligence in the Radiology Department

Project Collaborators:

Fiona Stanley Hospital

The aim of this project was to introduce and utilise Artifical Intelligence (AI) in the Radiology Department. The purpose of the AI was to improve patient care and value and produce faster work. This also has the benefit of making it more affordable and improving healthcare for minority groups.

Approach

The ICP Summer Intern had to work with and train an image classifier with previous radiology samples. The classifier uses models which require labelled data, from which it can then predict data labels and then compare the actual labels to the predicted ones. The accuracy of the metric can then update the model so the prediction is more accurate.

Outcome

01

An AI Development Workflow was created and a neural network was developed. The network is able to detect fractures, image models and a state-of-the-art language model was also implemented for prediction purposes.
